Firstly, you need to determine the stage of your hair losing and thinning condition, AKA, the size of hair losing and thinning area,

Normally,we give measure in 5 stages:

Stage#1: hair is thinning or losing at top middle part of your head within size 2”x4” just like the following image show.

Stage #2,the middle sparse area is widening

Stage #3: hair is thinning both on top middle part and the front temple to temple.

Stage#4: the whole crown area in very thinning to bold

Stage #5: very sparse hair or no hair at all on the whole head.

After measuring your own hair losing and thinning size, you need also take the speed of hair losing into consideration, like if you are taking chemo, then you should choose a large size wiglet or whole wig to cover most or whole head as chemo would cause serious hair losing even to bold at the end.

To stage #1, what you need is a small hair piece to clip on

To stage #3, you need a larger size hair topper to tape in or clip on

To stage #5, a whole wig is recommend.
